i know there are many people like me with some old early kz400 twins, who where in need of petcock parts or a new petcock. the petcock from a early honda cb750, is a near perfect replacement, i found the complete unit for $31.00 us dollars from ,
www.cb750supply.com/products/6/fuel-system/67/petcock-parts
,
the difference lays in the out lets. the kz 400 exit horizontally the cb's exit downward, and do clear the carbs mounts and linkage. parts and seals from the cb's all fit the kz's houseing if one wanted to do a perfect restore.
for mine i soaked it in a mix of hot water and baking soda to clean it out and then polished my housing on my buffer and used all the other parts of the cb's, ie, the bowl, gasket, 4 hole seal, lever, screws and retainer plate.
