You should have pumper carbs. You can use the standard kits (77-78) for everything except the bowl gaskets which are different than standard. The bowl gaskets are available from Z1 (
www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=311
) and the accelerater pump kit also (
www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=49
)
The pumper carbs used the accelerater pump to make up for the lean jetting from 79 and up. I converted my carbs to standard specs with jetting and standard bowls.

I posted this in one of your other topics about a week ago.
Z1Enterprises.com is a good place to get stuff for the bike & the customer service is great. I don't know if they (or anyone) have rebuild kits for the 81 CSR. You could buy the gaskets & starter plunger caps, and get a metric o-ring kit from HarborFreight or somewhere (nitrile or viton rubber). And see if Z1 can get the starter plunger o-rings - not sure if Kawasaki still lists them as Active (Z1 can get dealer parts).
Or to save trouble finding the o-rings, CycleOrings.com is operated by a guy who sells kits that have the correct size o-rings. The HF/etc metric kits don't have exactly the same size as stock, but they'll work.
Some extra info added:
Z1 also has K&L main jets & pilot jets if you need those. The stock main jets are on the lean side. With the stock exhaust & airbox you can probably install 95 or 97.5; someone else w pumper carbs stated that the 102.5 were too big (bluemeanie maybe?).

I would agree, jets seem to be something I have to poke around for, even for the 900. I would call them and get their opinion/assistance.
