78 750b carb jets...I'm done with dealerships
02 Nov 2010 12:34
I ordered main jets and pilot jets for my 78 750twin. After waiting 5 weeks and constantly calling the dealership for my parts, half my order finally came in. I have no idea what these jets go to. I am putting on K&N pods. does anyone know where I can get bigger main and pilot jets.

Have you called Z1Enterprises? They list the rebuild kit for that bike and I would bet could find you the jets you need....

Z1 may have the main jets. If not, try:

I have not seen a US based supplier for the mains.
I believe the fourth one down fits Mikuni BS-38 carbs. Stock main is 125. Headers and pods go up from there.
EDIT TO ADD: FOUND A US SITE WITH MAIN JETS.
Found this on the Kawi twin site:
To find, do a site search for:
Mikuni Main Jet N100.606
The dealer probably can not get the main jets. I believe Kawi no longer sells them. Kawi and a million other places sell the pilots which are Mikuni BS30/96 type if my memory serves. The stock pilot is 45 and 50 will run better (that's what I am running in my 750 twin).I ordered main jets and pilot jets for my 78 750twin. Anyway, I found jets at an awesome web site that took me hours to locate. The site is:
www.motorcyclecarbs.com/index.cfm
Based on research located from assorted moderators, I have determined that the main jet is the mikuni n100.606. DO not get tempted by the n100.604, these are used in XS Yamis and are too big which is to be avoided. This site has a range of jets all the way up to 200 I think, but it might be 160 on the mains.
To find, do a site search for:

They said that they were discontinued but found a place to get them. I guess they were wrong cause the jets sure are.

The specific OEM Kawasaki jet p/n is probably discontinued, but obtaining equivalent Mikuni jets are no problem if you know the exact style of jet you need. Even aftermarket "Dynojet" main jets are simply Mikuni N102/221 jets.
Here is a great site to help identify your exact jets.
www.pjmotorsports.com/mikuni-jets.html
Here is a great "conversion" chart to help with cross referencing Dynojet jets and OEM Mikuni large round jets:

When looking around at Z1Enterprises.com, a search for Main Jets yields more results than a search for Main Jet (singular). Other stuff yields similar results.... just in case you can't locate something.
