I would think that the 35mm FCR's on a 1200cc engine and a 100cfm Larry C head would work pretty good......But I also have a BG Mighty Demon 750 I could toss on the 'ol 1075 too.....

I've got a set of CR 35's on my bench right now waiting to go on the MKII. I had new RS34's but just couldn't stand that clacking! I went back to my 33 smoothbores for now but am looking forward to the CR35 smoothbores. I've seen a lot of really nice bikes with the CR's, including the old road race machines. I've been a mikuni man my whole life (have tools, spare parts, etc...) but I'm going to try these CR's since I really want round slide carbs and with my 1260cc I think the mik 29's and maybe the 33's are too small. Mikuni only offers the smoothbores in the flat slide variety, so off to Keihin I go!
I've hard that the 35's might go out of production but that hasn't been confirmed. They make a nice range including 29mm, 31mm, 33mm, 35mm, 37mm and 39mm. Nearly all of the parts are still available from Sudco. I'll let you know how mine run but it probably won't be for a while yet.

The CR specials seem to be much more common, but no one is stepping up with any experience with FCR's on a kz

I'd really like to know with my motor, would they perform better than the 29 smoothies I have on there.Don't get me wrong,I love what it does now,but often wonder how much more I could get with different carbs.
I gotta keep it streetable though.I like to idle below 3 grand.

31-33mm on your build.... Yeah baby!
Same time, all depends where you mostly ride her... Lower to mid range then 31mm and she'll be real nice.... Purr when you want her to, no low stumble but then when you let her out to go wild, she'll tear you up like a catholic school girl turned 18....
Something I learned off several old schoolers while doing my research... 29smoothies, sure where the ticket for their time, still a nice performance carb but.... even a fine tuned old set doesn't have the same zing as a new set of CR's or Miks for that matter...
I would think with that build of your's, not much more you truly need to do to scare the poo out of yourself.... Enjoy as is and be happy she's performs well enough or.....

All good info Dave.
And yes I DO want more!
lol...if I can get it without an operation on myself.
So a big difference with the 33's you say hey?Convince me...
As is,I'm idling at about the same rpm as you are,and I could even lower that but choose not to.It's a tuning-game when the bike is cold,so I just leave it there.Once it warms up I can turn the idle down to under a grand and it holds real nice, not when it's cold.
Ya,I like mid-range,but I REALLY like touching 8(plus) once in a while,so how would the double-3's be in that range?
