Pilot Jet Plug Question
07 Sep 2010 05:02 - 07 Sep 2010 05:05
What would you guys suggest for a sealer to put on around the plugs that cover the pilot jet towers in the float bowls of my Mikuni BS34s on GPz750. The plugs came with the rebuild kit.
Thanks
Nick

Did you get O rings in the rebuild kit ?
A good fitting O ring on the plug should be enough.

I did get O rings in the kit, but I don't think they were the correct size. I picked up some but was wondering if they were sealing enough. Maybe I'm paranoid.
Thanks

With the correct O ring that plug should be a snug fit which is all you need.
If you go to www.kawasaki.com , Owner info, Parts Diagrams etc etc you should see an O ring

As said, the correct o-ring is fine, and it just slides in with a little grease/oil or gas as lubricant. It just sits there, and usually can be removed with a firm tug via fingernails or small needle-nose pliers for easier removal.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.

I agree with the previous posts. I would not use a sealer of any kind. "O" rings are good enough. If the ones you have are not the correct size than any Neoprene or Viton seals that fit are fine.
