petcock positions?

petcock positions?

New rider with an old bike here.

The petcock on mine has been painted over and I can't read any markings. Can someone tell me where the various positions are? Is reserve up or down? I assume off is in the middle. Does it have a "prime" position?

It's a 1988 KZ305 LTD.

Looks like handle pointed up is reserve, down is on and in the middle is off.

California models were different and they had a prime.
