air filters
06 Aug 2010 18:52
Hi Guys, tried to start 82 kz1100 with no boots or filter. Im beginning to think carb boots and air cleaner has to be on for accurate running. Boots were a pain the first time[so left off] I tried and the filter was trashed[one ordered].

If everything is set up and working properly, it should bark right up without the airbox/boots. Just don't ride it like that if you can help it.

New boots are very pliable and MUCH easier to install than old hard boots. I believe it will run like crap (too lean) if it runs at all with naked carbs. Ed
