Ultrasonic carb cleaning
06 Aug 2010 14:01
Hi everyone,
I just picked up an ultrasonic cleaner on craigslist recently for cleaning carbs. So I was wondering if any of you guys use one of these to clean carbs. What kind of solution do you use? and where do you get it?

Just use Simple Green and water. I usually remove the jets and diaphrams and put the bowls back on. I've had clogged pilots jets that didn't come clean a couple times so now I clean the jets separately by soaking them in paint brush cleaner.

I have done a couple of sets of carbs in mine, and also used simple green and h2o. It worked very well.
Good thing about ultrasonic is that it doesnt harm brass, or rubber parts, like some chemical cleaning techniques do.
Make sure that you have a basket of some kind so that your parts are not resting on the bottom of the tank where the ultrasonics are coming from.

Simple green Huh? Whats that do as far as the finish on the body itself? I also want to brighten up the outside. Make them purty , you know.
