I'm rebuilding carbs on my 73 Z1, mikuni 28's question, what is proper procedure to remove needle jet?? FSM doesnt say anything just "disassemble carb" well duh and the the haynes gives some clue, Remove control arm and ???? anybody have a more comprehensive set of directions to accomplish this task, the rest of it is pretty simple i just want to be sure of my steps

the needle and the jets are two separate things. jets can be removed from the underside after opening the float bowls. you can get to the needle from the top end.

As I recall, the fsm calls them jet needle (the needle) and needle jet (the jet). The needle is attached to the arm and (once again relying on memory) once you remove the throttle shaft, they come out together.

yes but do you have to dis assemble the entire control arm first, ( there are two bolts with folded metal locks on them), or is there a simpler method
