Carburettor choke adjustment
17 Jul 2010 14:44 - 17 Jul 2010 14:46
Dear carburettor fanatics  ,
Sorry for bombarding the forum with so much questions. This place is awesome for getting right informations!
(bike: KZ750-R1 aka GPz 750 1982)
The carbs are mikuni BS34.
Ok here's my problem... when i start the bike cold with the choke i need to give it some throttle if not it will not start.
Here's my startup procedure:
1. Full choke give some air with the throttle and crank it
2.After 10 seconds it starts to rattle and bog so i need to put it on half-choke or it will stall (too rich maybe?).
3.I need at least 3-4 minute of heating before riding then i remove the choke then need to play with the throttle for the next 15 minutes or it will stall at a stop or when the engine have a chance to idle!
Doctor what's wrong with the carburettor?
Ambient starting temperature average 90-110 F so it's not cold here!
thank you very much guys!
Best regards,
laurent

Sounds like the jets are too small to me. Pod filters?
