That depends on many factors. Which carbs, since there is more than one stile of BS34s and the build of the engine. Normally 1.25 turns out from seat.

I was a BS34 Air Pilot once...

Actually its a mixture control screw. The fuel that reaches the opening at the end of the screw inside, is already premixed with air, ratio determined by your pilot jet and air jet passages.

Counter-clockwise = more mixture/richer idle circuit.
Clockwise = less/leaner pilot mixture circuit.

Cheers.

I guess its just for idle? MY carbs are from a 95 police, but they have different needles thanks to Otto and now 125 main jets as well, and I will be running pods.

I turned em out 1.25 turns last night when I was putting them together, seems I heard that somewheres. I'll see if it works. I should be getting my flat black powdercoated caps and bowls back from teh coater tonight, carbs should look great!
