'81 CSR new petcock

My wrench has said that it is generally not worth the money and hassle of trying to rebuild my petcock.

Have any of you gotten replacement units for your tank, what did you get and how does it work for you?

I have experienced the heartbreak of re-building and then finding that the result is not useable, so I'm OK with getting new. However, I ain't paying the big bucks for a Pingel.

I was looking into this yesterday. You should be able to get an oem petcock from the Kaw dealer. If you check the cross-reference at Kawasaki.com, you'll find that the one from a newer KZ1000-Police supercedes yours. I'm assuming the info is correct & that it would work. As for pricing, I don't know what the dealer charges, but RonAyers.com & a couple of other places list it at around $65. Z1Enterprises.com should be able to get one.
