I have a Z1 airbox that is a little stiff. Is there anything on the market that soften it up.

A propane torch.

If you mean the boots that connect the box to the carbs, then a pan of hot water may help, but new boots are best.

I think he has a Z1 which had the one piece box assembly. There were no boots. There is no way to soften the plastic permanently. You can soak it in something like Xylene to allow the plastic to "puff" up temporarily. But it may harden it even more in the long run. The best thing to do, is to warm the plastic with a hair dryer while you are mounting it.
