my bike is a 1977 kz1000-a i have a 4 to 1 vance&hines sidewinder exaust. i recently had the pleasure of cleaning my carbs and they are jetted at 12.5 and i'm wondering if this is proper. the reason i ask is when riding my kz doesn't come alive until around 4000rpms then its great. so there's my question

I would say 17.5 pilots and 122.5 mains with clip on 4 position on needle.

I would say thats a good place to start....but jetting depends on a lot of things....altitude for one, motor mods cam timing ect ect.
find someone with a dyno with a o2 sensor....or ride it at different throttle openings and do alot of plug checks....its work ....but its worth it....a properly jetted bike is a gas to ride....just hard to keep under the limitB)
