so to get the floats correct I should use the test tube method and make sure the gas is 1/8 below gasket and if not I have to take carbs apart and bend float tang accordingly then reassemble and check again. So if its out I just keep taking the float bowls off again and again to get it correct?

i try to lay them over a bit on there side so that the float adjusting tangs are just touching the plunger on the needle then i try to set them a sguare as possible that usally gets them close the ideal is to measure them to spec but if you set thm so that there sguare then it should be close unless you have weak springs in the needle itself then it's time for a replacement you can buy those seperately.
