Running rich flames out of the exhaust black smoke

1980 kz550 with 2 24" exhaust pipes I thought it was the coils, weak spark but i bought a set of used ones and same problem. it seems that the fuel mixture is too rich ie: black smoke flames out the exhaust and overall running rough. if someone has information like carb diagrams jet size for a stock reference coil resistance spark plug type ang gap size. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks, hardtail550
