I have a leaking petcock on my 1980 KZ750 LTD H1 I have rebuilt the petcock this past summer still have a continuouse drip of fuel...... That being said I am going to take the petcock apart again and make sure I have put it together right and if everything is together right after a good cleaning and it still leaks I am looking for a replacement manual petcock..... I checked Z1 and non of the petcocks look like they will fit the ones on there have a cylindar filter where mine is kinda flat and wide if anyone has replaced one of these or know of where I can get one I would appreciate a heads up.....

Might be a defective o-ring or valve gasket. :)

Cool thanks guys..... another question are the pod filters for the carbs all they are cracked up to be? And also will I have to rejet the carbs or just optional?

The "cracking" perhaps better describes earlier failure of carb holders due to increased stress (unless additional support is furnished at rear of carbs, too often neglected, imo).

And further enjoyment of:
Probable tuning difficulties throughout throttle range;
Performance sometimes diminished by cross-winds;
Propensity to ingest water during wet riding or washing;
Maintenance of additional air filter(s), instead of just one;
Expense of a good set, such as K&N's;
Re-routing crankcase breather hose.

But are more easily removed when disconnecting carbs from engine (when compared with old hardened airbox intake hoses), especially beneficial during the several r&r's frequently required incident to necessary re-jetting.

However, pods may sometimes be the only feasible option (where airbox has been removed). And are considered by many to look really cool.

Some well-respected pod proponents do indeed swear by them, especially toward seeking that last half-pony of power at top end. While many others prefer to just keep cruising along with the airbox as MaKaw intended.

Good Luck! :)

A carefully modified stock box with a high flow filter like K&N will provide all the air flow a stock or even moderately modified engine can use and will not risk the annoyances listed in the previous post. You might want to search the ZRXOA forum for several lenghty discussions of modded airbox.
BTW - My ZRX has pods, as does my KZ1000, and the only problem I have experienced has been power loss in severe cross wind (40mph+). Even so, my next bike will not have pods.

And one of the most important. :cheer:

All the more reason to fit security devises holding the side covers in place and keep them from blowing off (see other threads on the various methods). :)
