CR Special roundslide carb question.

16 Oct 2008 05:58
#242068
My current bike has a set of CR Special round slide carbs on it. My question is, each carb has an "L tube out the left side front of the carb. Is this a vaccuum port, vent port, or overflow? Trying to figure out if these should be capped off or not. Anyone?

what part of the carb does the hole communicate with?does it go into the throat of the carb or does it go into the bowl area?if it goes into the throat area where it could be pulling air in it needs capped,if it goes into the bowl area it could be a vent to the atmosphere.i am not familiar with your particular carbs but finding out where the holes are feeding into can help you decide to cap or not.hth.

Looks to be the throat, and does seem to be pulling light vaccuum.

These?(under the "CR' Decals)
They are where the choke circuit gets air when it is on. Don't cap them. I dont know why Keihin uses this weird set up.

Tried to find out what it was, but can only find a break-down diagram.
It's a bowl vent? Ok I'll leave it be, thanks

I am running them on my GPZ-750. They run strong, but I think I need to drop the needles on setting. The bike occasionally tried to foul the plugs at midrange, but runs hard at low and high rpm's.
