E-mail the tech guy with whoever you plan on running with. I don't see an old Kz as being a problem in the Novice group. If you have a centerstand, I would recommend removing it. The nice thing about STT is the Novice group is broken down to 6-7 small numbered groups. The higher the number the slower the pace. Example: Group 1 will almost be to an Intermediate level while Group 6 or 7 are first timers who are experiencing track riding for the first time.
As for using your daily rider for the track...well....just be accepting of the fact that you and the bike may take a fall. It's rare but does happen. As a matter of fact I saw a couple riders go off the track while I was at Putnam in the Novice class.
