Curious if a KZ900 engine will fit into a 1981 KZ750E frame. Concerned about the sprocket and mounting bolt alignment. Any advice? Not worried about carbs and electrical issues:evil:

Yes, I have a 4 cylinder 750 in the bike at the moment. The engine runs great but having problem with the starter gears in the gearbox. Replaced the starter and still having problems grinding gears. If I have to pull the engine and look for parts I was thinking of replacing the entire engine with something larger.

There has been more than one person put a 1000 in a 650 frame, so I'd say a 900 in a 750 frame is do-able :)

I can say with certainty, that a 1000 J "IS" going to fit in a GPz750 frame :D

it can be done, just takes custom motor mounts. the 650 and 750 motors are interchangable, as are the 900 and 1000, and the 650/1000 has been done, as well as the 750/1000, so your swap should be the same deal.
have a look at this

Just replaced the starter clutch on my 750, it's about a three hour job done with engine in frame through the bottom of the engine with the clutch, exhaust and the LH drive cover removed.
