dyno testing procedure
11 Oct 2006 04:15
i recently built a computer for a budy who has a dyno and i set the whole thing up for him,
when i get my new jets im gonna put the kz on it but i have no idea the best way to run a decent test
in a dummy run it gives a mph and rpm for each gear
any ideas.

Does he have an air/fuel meter too?? You need to do a base run with your current setup, even a few runs at different throttle positions. The dyno will show your a:f ratio and hp of course at different rpm's. I think a decent ratio is about 13.3 to 1 or so.... generally speaking... I'm sure the tuner will know. somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Adjust certain jets at depending on what the charts show. Hopefully sombody more experienced can expand on what jets affect what throttle positions on these bikes. I'm no expert, but just my .02. Good luck!

How about FactoryPro's CV Carb Tuning Procedures Page --
www.factorypro.com/tech/carbtune,CV,high_rpm_engines.html
does that help?

Another thing to play with on the dyno is a more air/less air run. Cover your pods with some tape and make a run. Monitor a/f ratio and just see what happens.
