The photo appears to be a KZ block, and the pistons are J model.

JayIf the pistons are for a J head, they would be part# K1106. The J motor has shorter rods, so the J pistons have the pin holes lower than regular KZs. If you put them in a motor with a KZ long rod crank, the pistons will hit the head.
You need a spacer plate under the block. .040" will work if you are using a base gasket on both sides. You can use .063" with no base gaskets.
Has the head been modified to use on the KZ style engine?

It's the stock head off a 76 KZ900 also the Pistons have 4549ps on them if that helps. Sorry for the confusion.
