Re: Need to make some custom baffles to put race exhaust back on the street
Yesterday 14:09 - Yesterday 14:11Its a 650 punched out to 831cc, but the head flows more than a GPZ1100.Kidkawie post=925918 userid=5306Id buy some ready made baffles, then modify if needed. Those pipes look small for a 1k, I think my header (Z1) is larger than that.
Yeah, when you bunch 4 head pipes together then stuff them into a collector you can run a much bigger pipe out to the muffler.
It has KZ1000 head pipes which are larger diameter than the "muffler pipes. Nothing ready made will fit those tiny end pipes.

You can buy perforated tubing and fab your own.
Back in 2010/11 I used the Flowmaster design to build a 2 stroke silencer. No stuffing needed.

.....also, convert inch to millimeters when looking for bike parts. Lots of 32mm baffles out there.

Checked the aftermarket and more at 35 mm than at 32mm, plus the ones at 32 are out of the UK so the pricing is too much per piece. The cheapest I found was about $40 without shipping/customs for 1 piece.
The tubing at local metal shop is $6 a piece but it requires my time to cut and dimple the pipes. Can use with or without packing material.
About $25 for me to make 4 baffles vs +$200 to buy ready made.
