Looking for shop

Can someone recommend a shop near the Sacramento area that can rebuild my kz400 engine?
I have another lower engine case that needs to be swapped out and I'm not sure about setting the main bearings
Thanks!

As a note, you can't swap one half of the case. The upper and lower cases as well as the main bearing cap/balancer cap assemblies are all assembled and then line bored to ensure the crank journals are true.

Both the clymer manual and the shop manual have a good deal of information about engine disassembly and reassembly. It's not terribly difficult and you'll save a ton of money doing it yourself. The hardest part is timing the balancer, but even that is pretty simple since the chain is marked and the balancers having timing marks. You can use a plastigauge to measure the bearing clearance and figure out what you need to order for that.

It's a pretty easy engine to work on. All of the torque specs and sequences are in the manual.
