Thanks all for the advice. Clearly the consensus is that JB Weld is a bodge to be avoided, and I take that on board. If I can find someone reputable locally (I'm in Australia) I'll look to get them welded after getting a quote on cost, otherwise I'll try to source a good set out of the US.
