I have oil going up to my K and N breather at the end of the crank case vent tube????
If a filter is attached to the end of the crank case vent tube, the filter may have become clogged with oil from vapors emitted from the crankcase, which inhibits crankcase breathing, and results in excessive pressure inside the crankcase.
Could toss the filter and test run.

Yes, but maybe oil in the pipe past the waste gate? I couldn't get my finger in there to feel. Spark plugs are oily.
The only thing I can think of is "over pressure" in the crank case, but I could be wrong?
While I had the waste gate off, I anti seized the stem like Mr. Turbo told me and backed of tension on the spring till it was just seated.
It was turned in 9 full turns pasted the seated position before I took it apart.
I seen the spring had yellow paint on the coils. Where the springs rated by what color they are painted?
I'd like to know what my starting point is now for boost.

The breather is a brand new K and N and it's big enough to use on a V8 engine. I tested it by blowing air through the vent hose attached to the KZ 650 vent cover. It was like no filter was even there.

yes, on the color coded spring .. the waste gate doesn't matter for the oil problem..... you may have an engine problem ..out of round cylinder or some ....this had the same problem when you bought the bike , right

Re: Turbo help please?

it is still a 1075 cc engine ? if the spark plugs are oily........ since Mr.turbo just checked /rebuilt the turbo ,it should be okay....you don't need all that venting for a 10 75 as long as the oil is draining away from the center section... Did you ball hone the cylinder when you had it down? the piston ring tension was good on all piston rings or did they go back into the cylinder with no problem? .....turbo heat on an air cooled engine kills piston rings. they lose tension and will pressurize the bottom end(blow by).......

thats not an ATP wastegate is that a tial ? I can't tell the brand by your pic....... Yellow springs for a tial small is 3.5 PSI for a large wast gate it's 7 .5 PSI

Yes, still 1075
No, I didn't ball hone the motor. I was under the impression that it's a fresh motor, but had a blown head gasket. As long as the head was off, I pulled the cylinders to replace cylinder studs and I wanted to make sure a oil rig wasn't broke, but wrote the oil problems off to being overfull on oil.

Can perform a poor man's leak down test by introducing compressed air into each spark plug hole and listening to where it escapes from the combustion clamber. This may be done at TDC or other cam positions where both valves are fully closed.
May introduce a spurt of compressed air by using a rubber cone-tip blow gun (rubber air nozzle) held into the spark plug hole. And of course keep holding it in position to keep air from coming back out the spark plug hole while listening for escaping air at other places. The air compressor should not be running while listening because the noise will likely drown out any sound of escaping air.
Air heard escaping from crankcase breather would indicate loss of compression past rings into crankcase.
Good Fortune!

I just noticed from your photo that you have the low profile crank case vent off of a J model or GPZ .....that may be part of the oil blowing up the vent line problem as the one that you are using has no baffling at all........ like the double baffles of the earlier models kz1000/Z1........ a larger old style will fit
