Reuse of copper exhaust gaskets?

I just want to take my exhaust of and paint it. Do I have to replace the copper exhaust gaskets? Or can I get away with reusing them? I have a ride this weekend and don't have time to get new ones.

You can ANNNEAL them but always better to replace for all they cost.

I have a lot of used ones and I just heat them cherry red and dunk them in water and double them up. I'm cheap. Roy

In a pinch, I have been able to remove the exhaust and put it back on without leaks. as long as the gaskets don't fall out (they usually have to be pried out), and you can get the pipe back exactly where it was. But it may take some luck.

It did work for me 1 time on a ZX6R & they were hollow as well.
