I did just like the maual said, and now it spins over no probs what so ever. I put my finger over each of the plug holes and it feels like im getting really good compression in all 4 cylinders. Im not sure how much because i couldnt find my compression tester......i seriously need to clean my garage out......lol. Thanks OMR, and everybody else.

Well i got a bug up my but today. I wanted to hear it run, so i ran to the store got some oil and a filter, put the header back on, threw the coils and wires on, then the carbs, a little gas in the tank, put it on choke, and 2 revolutions later she was up and running. This thing sounds so nasty with the open sidewinder rumbling. And sure enough the pipe that hadent blued up yet is now blueing quiet nicely. Sucsess...... The motor sounds nice and tight also with no unusual noises, after the topend got the oil pumping up there and warmed up it sounded so good.......thanks guy's.

How much faster will my bike go if I install a chrome valve stem cap on only the front wheel? It's so fast now, I have to unplug #4 spark plug to keep from soiling my shorts! Couldn't resist, ride safe, Steve

Hey now, "chrome valve stem cap" cut the wind better than OEM plastic covers thus allowing less friction....

Thus increased horsepower.. :P

I didnt notice this yesterday. I went to kick the old girl over today and i heard a clicking sound coming from under the valve cover. So i took the valve cover off and seen the clicking sound happened when the cam lobe came off the valve bucket. Is this normal with a bone cold engine? It did get cold here last night. I didnt start it, just to be on the safe side. The clicking noise was muffled after i coated everything in oil and threw the valve cover back on. Is it nothing to worry about? Or is this something to worry about? Thank's guys.

As provided to me by Plummen and Larry C....

In any motor re-build, you should use a Motor Grease designed just for that reason "Pre Motor Lubrication", prevents friction, scuffing, scarring etc... and provides excellent lubrication for break in of new motors, pistons/rings and transmissions...

In my case, all new timing components and gears so at first I could hear the top idler assembly... Even queried if that was normal and the reply was yes....

Same time, check your cam chain tension (re-set/snap) it back into spec and keep an ear on it just to be on the safe side...
