How's your bike coming along L ?

It needs a bit of TLC. Been working on getting kitchen door and upstairs door replaced. Lots of cash spent here. I need a little help and a stash of cash. I will have to steal parts off of my other Kz cause I'm missing a lot of little parts. Have to start the process. Going to take body parts for paint. I'm going to need a tail fin and left side cover for paint. Front calipers are gone. Going to have to sit down and make a list of stuff I still need. As soon as I go on spring break I will attend to all these things so by May she is ready to ride. New tires, brake lines perches, master cylinder stuff. I guess now would be the time to get the nice parts I have always drooled over and completely make bike look new as putting old rusty parts back on would be like a pair of holy jeans with a nice pair of shoes and dress shirt.

As I stand: all new bolts (preferably stainless steel), brake system starting with front calipers, perches (was thinking of doing the Zrx ones and hydraulic clutch, or easy clutch set up and Ducati perches, controls, seat, body work painted, pods, chromed parts either re dipped or replaced, tires, ignition switch (probably grab the stuff from other bike), z1 rear fender (LTD looks strange) probably clear tail, turn signals, grab bar may reuse, and restore gauges.
Seeing as how I've gone all the way with everything else might as well finish breaking the bank and have a totally new looking z1.
I guess that's the list in a nutshell.

You should cover those floor tiles with some acrylic paint, sealer or carpet , I think they are asbestos,no biggie once it's covered though.

I have a much, much easier list this year.

Take care of some engine leaks ,change the oil, rebuild the front caliper, tighten some spokes.
Clean and polish my pitted chrome

Sadly the paint may have to wait a while.

I am planning on talking to Rainman soon to set up the restart of the relay,
my guess is that it will be early April

wow, is there anything in these old homes that isn't harmful to your health and pocketbook? lol I spent so many days gutting the basement, the old furnace I had some of the scrap guys come in and break up to take out. Man were they happy to take that heavy behemoth out. I think there was asbestos in that as well.
I guess I had better get on it to take the body set to get painted. I will do that today and order that seat as well. I will also order some parts from Z1E. I wish I could find a left sidecover and tail fin that isn't cracked and a 160 speedo that I can send out for reconditioning. I'll get on that stuff today. I stayed up till 4 this morning. Man, those pieces are going to look nice when they get installed. I love woodwork in homes. So many beautiful things lost with modern society like all the arts and crafts.
Your basement is probably all neat and tidy like mine was before my wife used it as her extra room that she stores everything she doesn't want upstairs. Every time we have a party she makes a mad dash to just throw everything in the basement wherever.

The forecast is set for 44 degrees a week from Saturday. If any of you guys are up for a ride, post up. It may be warmer, may be colder, let's plan on riding and just play by ear. If it's colder we don't ride. Sound good? I think a trip to crystal lake is in order. Any of you guys been to the broken oar?

Here is my route for this Saturday.

I have a friend visiting from Denmark or I so would be riding. I hear rain in the forecast.
Latest on my KZ is that I dropped it off to have its internals checked out and a new set of tires installed. The seat should be in before Saturday. If things go well and everything is in order with bike then I will have it together before you know it. I meet with the guy next week about the custom paint scheme. I got a lead on another painter just in case. Then all I will need is to find a rear fender and I guess that would be about it. Oh, the brakes will need to be sorted and a few other minor details. I can't wait to get it roadworthy.
