Bluejay (Jack) has inspired me to see if there is any interest in a few hundred mile Midwest ride
this spring. seems like there are a few of us that would like to get together and ride & a few that werent ready yet

His tent and fire gave me the thought maybe we could meet up at a state park and pick a
destination or 2 to ride to and make a weekend of it

some could trailer in, in short make a kz small rally any thoughts?

Back in 07 and 08 I organized a Rally once in SE Indiana and one in Ky. They drew a few members here, the GSR and even some COG members. They were called the SWOKZ Rallies ("South West Ohio KZ" Rally). I had a web site set up with all the info on it including, maps, places to stay in the area, lunch info, after ride party, etc. You want it organized but not feel organized, too loose and it is like herding cats, too tight and it feels like a tour bus kind of thing.

Here is some links to back then, lots of fun but it is a lot of work to organize it with route planning and checking right up to the last second (Indiana loves to tar & chip without notice it seems). Setting up a campground and motel for special rates/reservations, lunch spots, interesting things to see, roads that challenge the ones that like to carve, it gets a little complicated to a degree as you want to make it a good one when you're the organizer so my advice is to start planning early.

I'm not much of an organizer may be more than I can do but after the few people I have met in person so far I think a weekend getaway would totally rock! Hell I cant even organize my closet but
where there is a will there is a way and hell... the NARR is progressing with the help of some awesome
organizers maybe If there is enough interest I/we could get this done

the question is which state to do this in Indiana? Kentucky? Missouri? Illinois?
I wouldnt mind trailering west seems east and south already have events most of the members
already go to.

I'd be interested, on the assumption I get mine going again, I'm new to the region though, so I have no suggestions.

It would be a trip to get to the trip for me, but if its inside 6 hours or so from Pittsburgh, Id try an make a long weekend of it

Thats what i was thinking maybe a central midwest location with a nice camp ground and some event worth riding to on saturday night and some great riding roads for saturday during the day & a sunday morning ride before everyone had to head home
