You'll have to ask MadKaw Steve about the oil cooler he is running on his 900. I have admired it since I saw it and assume it works fine. I know it adds some pizzaz to an already great looking bike.

Your PS doesn't have a cooler!

I would have thought that was standard on those PS editions.... Oh well, learn something new everyday...

I have been running a cooler for years and I do know there is a definate temp drop compared to no cooler, just dont know how much as I do not have a temp gauge. I have what is believed to be a 2 row but could be a 3 row bottom in/out cooler.

@ Kaw... "I have what is believed to be a 2 row but could be a 3 row bottom in/out cooler."...

You only have a 2/3 row!!!

Damn I was thinking at least 7 row, most likely 10 row for here in Phoenix.... Interesting for Florida summer months with humidity aren't that far off from AZ DRY heat indexes....

7 row may be more than enough then.... Hmmm...

B) Are you going for the water cooled big ass radiator look. You can only fit so much in the space........ Plus with the little bit of oil pressure these bikes run, I would be cautious about a BIG oil cooler

i would have to look but i think it is a three row oil cooler and it is a lockhart oil cooler .it seems to help keep the oil a little cooler, but i dont have a gauge on it. i put it on because the motor is a 76 900 with a ported head, 410 cams, 60 off the head, welded crank, back cut trany, and 29 soothbore carbs, dayna coils and egnition and a 1200 wysco piston kit.i just wanted to keep the oil as cool as i could.it seems to work just fine.bye the way my eyes are closed because bob is so slow with his camera i fell asleep wating for him to take the picture..lol

You guys with the photoshop kill me.:P I think the oil cooler to find if you can find anyone with one still in decent condition is to get the top mounted bottom exit lockhart oil cooler. If you get the top mount it won't clear the triple tree when you turn the wheel, especially if the steering locks are worn out. If you mount too low it gets in the way of the tach cable.
Dagnabit. I have a top mount oil cooler buttttt I am not sure I want to lose my tach cable. I am going to wait and see if I can find the right one before I go and modify stuff. My friend has his set up so that the cooler only lets oil in to it when it gets to a certain temp if not the cooler is bypassed. I think that is a great idea if you live where it gets much cooler.
