If you know of any threads on the subject id be glad to be pointed in that direction.
I do not recall seeing such a thread around here. If any exist, I bet they are deeply buried in the archives someplace. If you decide to go that direction, I am sure members like zed105 can help you out.
I do remember a thread or two about trouble shooting and repair of the injection system, but it might be easier to start with the manuals posted by scirocco than to dig through somebody else's problems.

If I had a bike like yours I'd try my best to get it running well with the stock injection before giving up. Can't hurt to try anyway. Carbs would be the fall-back plan. Not something I'd go to straight away.

Yea I think that will be the plan Nessism, work with what I got see if there is life in the old girl, read up on the material and try and at least get her started. And if all fails go to plan B, I’d like to have her on the road by early March next year... Along with my 75 z1.

my '83 is still injected, got it running with a lot of help from people like scirocco and riturbo and others. as i put it back together from it's major disassembly and years of abuse, i stocked up on spare efi components. it came with an 1170 overbore kit (that i think is a mistake for a place like arizona). runs GREAT for about 20 miles, then starts to break up and miss. but at my age, 20 miles on this rocket is enough for me.

I would try the injection first .Once you get the fuel pump going will probably start right up. It a pretty simple system. Pretty bulletproof too once you get it dialed in .Out of the ten bikes in my garage the turbos are the ones that I know will start .Just go out and push the button no matter how long they sit . Let us know how you make out .There's plenty of guys on here to help .

01 Oct 2020 14:45Yea I think I’ll give it a look, see how the loom is, sort anything out that’s obvious and troubleshoot from there, there will be a lot of head scratching and helping hand posts in my future I think.riturbo wrote: I would try the injection first .Once you get the fuel pump going will probably start right up.
