MASTER CYLINDER

Does anyone have a part number for the original front brake master cylinder, or a list of compatible master cylinders for a 1982 kz1000 LTD?

If you've changed the handlebars or plan to, then you might want to consider a different Fr br master cylinder.
You can probably use one from a different or more modern motorcycle. the basic criteria is:
7/8" handlebars. dual disk piston bore, probably 16mm. mount angle. mirror orifice (some don't have a mirror hole).
When going with stock & you get a used mc, you'll probably need to refurbish it. That rectangular style mc has a tendency to leak at the cap, so when cleaning it, hit the top of the reservoir & cap with a wire wheel to remove all of the scale buildup. I had to use an awl to scrape away some of the crud, then use the wire wheel.
1981 KZ650-CSR. single disk Fr brake. 1/2 cast into underside of mc. 1/2" = 12.5 mm.
