Looking for an active forum
23 Jun 2018 13:18
I know this forum is Kawasaki and if the mods chose to delete this post so be it. I was given an 89 Yamaha fzr600 that used to be a road racer. I have search online but any forum dealing with these bikes are inactive. Does anyone know of a forum I can look into for info/help? Does anyone here happen to have an fzr that wouldn’t mind pm ing me ?
I’ve had lots of help here with my 81 kz750H so I figure it can’t hurt to ask about the fzr on the off chance someone may have one.

Try Facebook.
Practical Sportsbike have a page and they focus on bikes from the 80s/90s. There will be people there for sure who can point you in the right direction.

As member's have occasionally done, I think it's still okay under the rules to post for info/help about a non-Kawasaki here on KZr. And without fear of being ostracized or sentenced to hanging. Some folks might even believe that having to deal with the particular bike at hand may in and of itself be punishment enough.

I don't mind answering questions about another bike if I have something to contribute.

My brother dropped by last night with some more parts for the bike. In one of the boxes was a factory service manual for the bike. Finding where things go isn’t too bad but at least now with the manual I won’t put a part on only to have to take it off to put on another. The wiring harness was quite the experience and in still having issues on routing certain wires. Several containers of nuts and bolts also make it a chore figuring which ones go where.
When I picked it up it was a bare frame, engine, fork assembly, rear swing arms (2) carbs (2 sets) fiberglass body panels (thankfully the front fairing was together in a single unit with all gauges installed.
I’ll most likely repaint it and give it to my daughter in a couple years when she’s old enough to get her license.
