I might buy a 83' kz550
12 Apr 2016 17:59
New to the forum and had a few questions. I found a 83' kz550 bobber and guy said he'd go down from $2000 to $1700. He said he rebuilt the carbs, new brake/lever master cylinder, new clutch, new front tires and an oil change and it has 14k mikes. Do you think this is a fair price? And if so, what questions should I ask regarding the current status of the bike. It looks in good shape in the pictures. It still has the original rims. OS there anything I should look for when I go see it as far as defects? If someone can please reply with something helpful it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks on advance guys

Pics will help. Most bobbers are sold because there's something wrong with them. They'll ask high and take what they can get.

Run away, don't walk.
No bobber of a KZ550 is worth half that much money.

I wouldn't pay that for 550 bobber. You could probably find a near mint 550 or 550GPZ for 2k. Should be able to find moderate condition 550s for 5-800$. Pass. R

That bike is a regular old 550 LTD that someone hacked up and rattle canned. If it was stock it might be worth $1000, but now it's hacked and worth a good bit less.
