Removed my center stand

In order to clear the exhaust I'm putting on,the center stand had to go. Its bent anyway. I was going to use the board trick for when I needed to stand it up until I realized that the header and H pipe are under the frame rails.

How have any of you that removed your stand found to stand your bike up straight when work is required?

You can buy a rear stand that you slide under your back tire that'll hold your bike up straight

Many times the center stand will bolt up but won't fold up. If your bike will bolt up the stand you can just bolt it on when you need to do some maintenance and take it off when you're ready to ride.

Took my stand off my KZ650 many years ago to save weight and put it on and remove it right away when I need it too.

I put 4 heavy duty hook eyes in my garage ceiling, making sure they were into a rafter. I hang tie-down straps used for hauling to the handlebars and rear of the bike. One person can raise the bike completely off the ground by rocking the bike and cinching each strap a little at a time. After having one fall, I use the straps even if the bike does have a stand. The hooks eyes were less than $10 and I already had the straps. It's cheap insurance.

A paddock stand is just the ticket. I have 3 or 4 of them in the shop and even a front end stand that supports the bike from the steering stem allowing front end work too B)

I just put mine on when needed, hand tighten the pins. How often do you really need a stand, unless you're racing.

I had to cut the center stand mounts off to fit a braced swingarm, but added spools to the swingarm for a stand.
