seen a wreck today
03 Jun 2013 20:06
Some dummy in a pontiac pulled out in front of a harley on a busy street a block down from my house. He hit so hard it broke the rear wheel off the pontiac. Guy looks like hes alive but he looks pretty banged up. Must have been going pretty damn fast to blow the rear wheel off that car.

There is a real reason why in most car/bike accidents at intersections the driver says they didn't see the bike. You have to think if the timing is perfect when the driver looks for on coming vehicles and you are behind a TELEPHONE pole then they CAN'T see you!!!This is the same for truck drivers, they sit so far above the ground, they rarely look for something within 25 feet of them because they're looking a1/4 mile down the road. they pull out and BAM. OFFICER , I DIDN'T SEE THE MOTORCYCLE COMING!!!!!!

Ive avoided some serious crap myself. My front brakes arent exactly perfect on my KZ1000. I was rolling down some backass street on the westside of sioux city. a truck pulled out and blocked off the whole road. made eye contact with me as he was doing it. I was right there, no way to stop in time. I threw the transmission down a gear, grabbed the front break and went up a driveway onto the sidewalk. hopped the curb on the opposite side of the truck, gave the guy the finger, and kept on going

Some chick pulled out in front of me early in the morning.. another second of delay on the brakes or downshifting and i probably wouldn't be typing this right now. locked the back brake after downshifting and had the front brake lever pulled all the way to the throttle tube. slid right up to her passenger door, she gives me a stupid look, and then drives off. i couldnt breath i was so freaked out hahaha

Re: seen a wreck today
04 Jun 2013 09:35You shouldn't be typing this. You should be out in the garage fixing your front brakes. The vast majority of your stopping power is at the front. Why would you even leave your driveway with a faulty front brake? Dumb, stupid, reckless behavior. Oh, I forgot, you're young and invincible. Never mind.Kitten Tooth wrote: Some chick pulled out in front of me early in the morning.. another second of delay on the brakes or downshifting and i probably wouldn't be typing this right now. locked the back brake after downshifting and had the front brake lever pulled all the way to the throttle tube. slid right up to her passenger door, she gives me a stupid look, and then drives off. i couldnt breath i was so freaked out hahaha

You live in Souix City, IA? I just rolled through there with the flag last Friday. Why weren't you involved?
