KZ of Course!
Sweet. C14 would be to new anyway.
Hope you have a fun and safe ride.
I to like the 4 corners as the final point idea. Who is the most likely suspect? OMR?

He is the closest. If it gets down to So. Cal. this year, say Oct. or Nov. or even early Dec. I might join in. I'm heading to New Mexico early Oct. for an extended stay.

You're going to have to carry the flag all the way.
Man, your butt's gonna be sore by the time you get home.I don't know about you, but I can never get to sleep the night before a long trip. I think I slept about 2 hours before the trip to Ohio. Keep us posted on the way west and stay safe my friend.

Re: KZR Relay Ride - Leg 4 (Rocky Mountain Leg)
26 Jul 2013 02:44Now...How About YOU getting it in to Western Canada??!
I'm up for that, Forrest. I'll be in the northern Idaho/north western Montana area in early-mid September on our 5th Annual Classic Ride......and it appears I'll be the only Kwakker rider amongst a sea of Hondas and a Suzuki.

It looks like the ride is set for the weekend of the 13/14/15 of September.
I wonder if that can work ??

If you take the flag into Canada in mid/ lat September, it will more than likely be bedded down for the winter again.
If it happens sooner, like in August, then it may well be able to travel south. Once it makes the turn south, I believe the relay Will continue this year, and be completed.
Otherwise look at 2014 for the finish.

YUP - very true, and another good reason to head north as soon as possible, possibly from Boise. That is, IF there's enough committed interest from riders up north to KEEP IT MOVING, so it makes planned contacts up there and still leaves enough decent weather to then move south for the finish...
Perhaps a roll call for/from riders north of Boise in northern Idaho, Washington and BC, so firm plans can be made for a travel route?

Just this minute got a text from Forrest. The flag has been handed off to Rider Number 55, kaw-a-holic. Moving north now from Jackson, WY.

Yes! The Flag is firmly in the Rocky Mountain States! Kaw-a-holic has brought it to his home in Missoula, MT from Jackson, WY. I hope it makes it to the Canadian Rocky Provinces before going west. The Canadians are as much a part of this since it is a North American Relay Flag! Let's keep the Flag moving around the continent. As a wise KZ Rider recently told me, "There is no time limit on this Flag Relay" AND "Isn't the point of the Relay to show these old bikes can still run and we meet other like minded enthusiast, even creating new friendships in person?!" I agree. Just because I did my part in stirring the pot and bridging a gap in the relay should not mean we forget the true intent/purpose. Let us all take action but allow as many as possible to participate. Peace Out
BTW, my KZ650 ran 365 miles the last day of the return leg in 6 hours from Chadron, NE to West Point, NE. Most of the ride was at 80 mph indicated. The total time included fuel stops. It handled and ran flawlessly. I am sharing this to all of you considering riding The Relay to give your vintage KZ or Kawasakis a good spiff and trust in them. It does not hurt to have a back up plan or support just in case. Most importantly, take a leap of faith and have great experience.

I've been away for 2 weeks (Oshkosh Fly in) and away from my 'puter since I got home, so a belated congratulations to Forrest and Saxjones on an epic ride in the NARR. Your ride made mine look like a scoot to the liquor store. I especially enjoyed the part about the rain! But you didn't mention hail. You have to ride in a hailstorm to really appreciate foul weather.
Anyhow,I'm glad you made it home safely with no major incident. BTW I have a good solution to the oil cap coming off. I'll post a picture of that in the other thread.

Thanks Tom, really appreciate your kind words. How was the EAA this year? Haven't been in 10 years.
Hope to ride with you again soon.
AND, It may have hailed some but it was small and only hurt a little
