Re: KZ Relay Ride GOTO http://VintageKawasakiRelay.com
23 May 2012 13:46 - 23 May 2012 13:47We really need this. I have one which would be ideal. It looks like this:TomW wrote:trianglelaguna wrote: ..maybe a journal with it as well...you know...sitting in a denny's thinking and resting for the ride on, weather is...my bike is...ect.. ect....one page a rider....later folks can read the for and aft riders thoughts....
I suggested that a while ago in another thread. Somebody, soon, spend a dollar and buy a note book to send along with the flag for riders to make notes, record weather, traffic, whatever while they have the flag in their care. Not everything they think about will make it on the web. We need a log. Please, next rider buy a notebook and send it along with the flag. Riders, write as much as you want, note books are cheap. When it gets filed up, next rider buys another one.
Hard cover, 80 pages, double-sided. I would send it, but it would cost more to ship than to purchase at the store. I will donate it when it gets here if no one is willing to purchase one. (They are inexpensive, BTW.)

Tom W, I know we are all still trapped in the past but, I am getting to realize that a journal will only get coffee spilled on it perhaps many other things , even lost. A digital journal. Can even be made to look like a cyber real journal.
Just popping my two cents. Tri, good job man on getting these guys in to the idea.

So true. I'm a dinosaur and ride a dinosaur bike. I wouldn't think a log could get lost any easier than a flag, but the spilled coffee, mud, tire tracks, blood, whatever, tells a story that can't be recorded in bits and bytes. Ride along participants would probably like having their names recorded along with the year make and model of what they rode. Support vehicle drivers and passengers too. If some relayer could draw and wanted to sketch something they could do that too. I don't think a limit on space used should be placed on participants. I would have a hard time filling a half a page or more poking my finger at my smart phone. When the relay is over someone could transcribe the whole thing for the world to read or it could be done as we go along.
Every voyager I can think of has kept a log. Heaven forbid something should happen to the KZR servers, we still have a record. Spiral notebooks are dirt cheap and available everywhere. Keeping a paper log is part of the fun.
