Well, unless it absolutely had matching frame and motor VIN's, there is very little of that bike that was a 1973 year model...perhaps the only thing salvageable would have been the frame and motor. It would have been a huge money pit...on the other hand, it the numbers were matching, then US$1000 was a realistic proposal from the junkman.

I'd venture to say a 73-75 Frame with good title alone, no motor, is worth a starting price of $500.00 in U.S.A. and more to an out of country sale.

The engine cases are not 73 - the raised area where the engine numbers are stamped is too large for a 73. The head nuts are from a KZ as well. The front-end is from a KZ900 or KZ1000. The pic isn't clear enough, but it appears the electrical panel is on the LEFT side of the bike - if that's the case, then it's not a Z1 - they have the electrical panel on the RIGHT side of the bike.
The tail is KZ as well.

on both of the 73s ive had the oil passage next to serial # pad doesnt go all the way to the pad.
for what ive been watching total trash go for on ebay youd have no trouble busting that bike up and doubling your $800 investment
theres a whole bunch of kz forks on ebay people are trying to pass off as z1 stuff, same thing with kz wire wheels with 4 bolt rotors they try and label as z1 stuff! what a bunch of shmucks!
