Lift table, I'm thinking again. Run away!

So I have read everyone's solution to getting a little height when working on their steed. I have a Sears little lift that for most things suit my needs. But I broke my back about 3 years ago and lately I been wishing for more height too. So a friend has one of these and will sell it to me for $800. It runs and the hydraulics are solid. He has the bucket and a set of lifting tines too.

So anyone ever used one for this? I might get it anyway to play with but it got me thinking about using it as a motorcycle lift. With benefits. Any opinions?

If It were close to me, I'd swap you a hydraulic lift for it. You could prolly make enough money with it to buy a nice lift. They be handy little critters. I guess what I'm saying is BUY IT! As for using it for a lift, you probably could, seen crazier things used. If your using the forks under the bike I would brace it up before getting under it:blink:

I'd buy that in a NY minute! But turn it into a lift? That's a waste.

That's not it but it looks like that. Yes its a Bobcat 371 it has a 14hp Kohler gas engine. Says it will lift 600lbs but he says it will lift at least 800. I could weld on some strap holds and a lift plate because I really don't need it as a fork lift but I would like to play with the bucket. Move a few mounds of dirt around and clear some briars. He says it could use a ring job but runs fine. I guess I'm gonna pull the trigger. My uncle did a few favors for him and he is giving me a break on the price.

I had a BobCat 443 that I wish I still had.

Sounds like a smokin deal. As Les says always some sort of safety brace.

I done did it. He'll bring it down mid-may when he gets his new one in. He runs this little farm and rough cut sawmill up north. Says he will not charge me for the woodchips and cow crap on it. Looks like my pressure washer will get a workout too. Might want to get a tetanus shot when you get in it because of the rusty cage but I don't remember the cow crap.

Seen it done, but deffinately strap her up good (as said i believe...).

Personally, I would just get one of these:

They work great. Lift the bike high and handle 1100 lbs easy.

$200 or so.

those old bobcats with the gas motors are squirrely to say the least,i personally wouldnt recomend it myself and ive done just about every stupid stunt that can be done with a skidloader or backhoe(just ask my neighbors! )
i used to use my 435 bobcat excavator for hoisting bikes and cars/trucks off the ground but it was a 12,000lb machine ,now its gone so im learning how to use my jd 135 excavator for an engine hoist! :woohoo:

Well I told him I'd take it. Wireman, not sure what you mean by squirrely but I was planning on using a couple of jack stands when the bike was up and it's not like I'm lifting the bike over my head and crawling underneath. Lift it maybe 2 feet just to ease the back bending a little. I have a cement slab with tie rings if I need to strap down the Bobcat. You think the Bobcat would tip? If it don't work I'll be content to just tear up the yard and woods. Destruction can be therapy.

A friend of mine had a Bobcat that I used to put a small block Chevy into a Nova years back. Worked like a charm. I rebuilt the motor in my living room (after my divorce of course) and had 11 steps to bring it down. I wheeled the engine stand to the porch and picked it with the Bobcat.

I must say if you bought it just for a lift it is a waste. You might as well work it and make some coin with it.
