Snowballed is a concept I know all too well. Your not alone.

Nice progress. Color looks great. Struts make my back hurt thinking about it but that's not what your building for by th looks of that back tire.

Motor color? Black it out would look mean.

Thanks for the compliment. The motor is gonna be natural with wet black powder on the covers with polished stainless bolts, should look sick.

Well, I sure do wish one of you "clowns" had told me what kind of a biotch it is to get the block back down on the pistons with only one set of hands. Thankfully I only fawked up one oil rail in the process and I had one extra set of rings that I bought just in case. It's a good thing I took a patience pill this morning or it would have probably been on the UPS truck headed for Larry with a blank check.

I hear you - some guys have rigged up compressors for the pistons rings, but I'm not sure how helpful that would be considering the small amount of clearance. If you search you can see some of the magic they've wrangled up.

or Popsicle stix

or tongue depressors

or wooden ice cream spoons

And some prefer tie wraps

While others use strips from aluminum cans

A forum search reveals a plethora of advice and suggestions with regard to getting the pistons started into the cylinders when reassembling.

Some folks even have and employ the genuine factory tool as shown and described in the FSM.

Good Fortune! :)

And not trying to insult ya big guy, keep an eye on the ring orientations/overlaps and you'll be golden... ;)
