First ride in three years
12 Sep 2010 23:49
Toninght I'm in the garage, putting together the rest of the pieces that make up a thing called a kz900. After ten years without a license I'm going in tomorrow morning to test for the permit. I got the car permit last week and failed the motorcycle test by one point. There I was standing in there, my heart was hammering and my palms were sweaty. I could not figure out why. So this is it. I'm ready and I'm excited and humble all at the same time. It's stressful too. I'll be up all night probably. I'tll feel good to lie down and be finally done. It's been one hell of a long road for me. If you bead blast your carbs, it's a big surprize, like the slides don't move and like cement was used on them instead of beads. It was fun taking them all apart again and now they look better than new ever could. I'm down to the chain on, the battery wiring, air in the tires, that kind of stuff. For some very odd reason the bike seems to have some kind of magic, it looks awesome. I can't believe it myself, it took on it's own form and it's simple magical. I looked up at the sky and thought of my dad whose been gone for 3yrs now. That lonely feeling came into my heart and soul, it was so quiet and dark behind the house. He sold me the bike for 300 about 10 or 12 yrs ago. The big dipper was hanging lower than I ever remembered and in a special place. I never new how much I missed him. I block all feelings that have to do with death or disaster. It's automatic and I do not understand it. There's something alive within this monster of a bike. It has a sound that is not just loud, it has a power to it, and it's always there. Something solid. Something that gets ahead of itself, reaches for the moon. Tonight is my night, and I prayed for this night to come one day. Looking back I don't know if I ever believed it would come. It feels like getting out of prison. It's much greater than one can imagine. I'm feeling it now and tears are rolling down my face. I too deserve to rest. I'm so tired and so worn down. I'm sick of every other thought other than actual reality. Noone is ever going to take my driving priveledge away, not even me. I have alot of respect for that bike and much experience riding it. And I'm gonna raise some hell just not the same way I used to
Gotta get back to the garage now and finish then go back inside to read the test book alittle more. I'm going to take pics of this bike cuz I'm sure you all will love to see it, it really is nice. I'll figure out how tomorrow, Don't care what I have to do I'll get some pics on here. Goodnight every one and thanks for all the help I've gotten from reading all your stuff, it's done more for me than anyone will ever know. I'm not about being better or being the best, I'm just all about having fun. I act stupid and write stupid things all the time but I'm really not that way. I don't know why I do it. I really don't care but I have to quit it. I can't take it anymore either!

some heart felt words there man.thanks for layin it all out there like that.
i always kinda thought you were an a$$,or at least came off like one.
kinda hard to tell over the internet sometimes.
takes sometime to get through peoples hard candy coating sometimes, especially when you are not face to face.
i hope that you knocked your test outta the ball park,or passed by the skin of your gums.either way, long as it wokred out to the good for you.
anyone who has never gone without there license doesn't have the respect for the privledge, like someone who has ridin or drivin without one.
talk about one big sigh of relief, whew!!!!!!!!
i have been there i know the feeling.
get some pics of this bike up so we can see what has consumed you.

Re: First ride goes crazy
14 Sep 2010 22:08
So I stayed up all night till 6am putting the bike together untill I'm down to little or nothing to do. I went in and studied the test book so as not to get fooled again. Get two hours of sleep and at 8:30 my buddy calls .... and I had the phone in my hand to call him. Yeah, I'm excited all right, and it's a nice day coming on too. I get three wrong right away! Then all rest right. I got controlled butterflys. Feels evil too like I'm out of the dungeon or something. I faced that demon. But new it was like a fly. It was riding next to my shoulder is how it felt. Like a little voice.... always something in the background. I knew what it was but would not let myself visualize it to reality. Though I knew what it was. This was twisting me somewhat and I realized the first move was critical beyond comprehension. And I had one trashed mind that needed to be fixed. I I might not make it to that, though I really didn't know why. Somewhere within me two forces were grueling. I start it and one cylinder isn't working I put my knew plugs in someones honda 450 and took there's the same plugs and that engine missed. I grab a random platnum from the drawer and it will fit so it in. I get the cylinder to fire and take off down the driveway leaving the hone and some tools lay. I get out onto 13th ave s. and it's 35. Easy, nice quiet mufler I built, I'm liking that. I get some few rr's and wow. I look behind and get alil more and holy. This is not my bike. My had blew off. I rode down two miles and got gas. I knew right away to never, ever knock a kerker pipe. And if you have 14 volts and a dyna. You may as well have the key to the universe. Because telling the difference is not going to happen. I head back into traffic to get my hat and got up to 25 or 30 in low and decided to change lanes to the right and get just alittle more rr's. I got into the lane, straightened out and brought up a few rr's and gave it not even half throttle, I darn near slid back off the seat and could swear the rear tire was close to breaking loose. THe front shot up afew inches and I close her down instantly. That was unreal power. I was just starting the power band. That is was throught the roof, I knew it allright. The flashing lights behind me told me advertising was not allowed, but it was too late, busted. pulled by walmart entrance and stood forever while he ran me. He didn't know if a permit was legal and also thought a carless driving was the lesser of that compared to an exibtion. So I'm working it . And waiting. I did not know wether any infraction would suspend a permit. All the sudden it's under the table. I got a warrant. But he's not sure, then it is. I'm crushed. No way I have a warrant. And I alway would know. It's for proctection order violation from jusy 10 warrant dated 28th And me and this girl are getting along fine I just pissed her off calling one night back then and long form complaint I guess. Blew me away. I had no idea, I was done with that crap. Learned not to drink too much too. But here I am getting pulled off the road so fast my head spun. So I'm an idiot yet again. I felt ashamed of my self. Asked myself I do this to myself. I really felt bad. Next morning I get out around 11 and jumped on that bike with new attitude and caution. It rocked. It was so fast. At 70 in third it just starts buzzing. At 80 it jumps into the band and picks up and moves OUT. At 90 in third it goes nuts and sails over 100 very fast. I shut her down every time, I mean it just went to infinity. I did'nt even check the timing. Now I will. My bud was on his xs1100, I never raced him of course but That bike wasn't even a match. He kept looking at It riding next to me in my lane, I don't that abreast crap. NOt with him. He's 150lbs and he's a respinsible family man but he has some energy at 50! Any way I had a blast, the bike was a monster and more fun than ever, and a weapon to be respected. I'm ok now, it's out my system and I have control and the desire to keep it. Many fr
iends told me today to watch out. they too have seen and know the course ones destiny can take off too so suddenly it's too late to recover. Now it's time to get some pics within 2 days or so. You gotta at least see the look of the bike thats coveted by the gods of war. I'll have to watch this one, someone will steal it or park it for me if I let them. I'm very lucky to have a choice left. I almost blew it. If that don't do it nothing will. Head porting must work, this motor have to be flowing alot of air to be this fast. Cuz that so

I found out that riding that bicycle trained me to handle that bike perfectly, and my skills are sharper than what I see around me in others. I should be I worked long and hard at it. Now I'm working on my not so good skills. And I'm very comfortable with situation knowing this is the part thats going to matter the most. wait till you see these pics! THis is one sexy machine. :woohoo:

sorry to hear about the "snag".sounds like it worked out as well as it could have.
i lost my license 3 times between 16 and 18,over stupid
sh!t on my part.i used to wreck every car or truck i had in the winter time until i turned 20.i put seven topends on five lowends in my 1978 z1r from the age of 15 till 18.i just couldn't figure out not to constantly twist stock 1000's to 10,000 rpm all the time.seemd like they would always lean out and do everything from dime size holes in #2 to exploding the piston with the intake valve open and filling my pod with aluminum dust and chunks of rings, while beating the wrist pin down around the rod and breaking the skirt off the sleeve.saved the cases tho  .
glad to hear you got your first ride in,sorry you didn't get away with it.make sure to learn something from it,anything.then it is not wasted and just another learning experience.
can't wait to see the pics of the bike that has held so much sway over you.
