I have a good chance to upgrade.
From the ol' kz550 to an R6 that needs a little TLC.
Its 1500, i have all winter to get it lookin good...

should i go for it?
any body ever ride one?

I know i can get i looking good

keep them both and have a lot of fun for different reasons the r6 is a blast to ride big power and light to boot great little bike

I agree! Recently picked up a little ninja 500 and ride it while working on the kz. Both are fun to ride, but for different reasons.
1978 KZ650 D1 ~ Carb jetting: 107.5 & 20 & 4th groove with pods and 4-1 Exhaust

that is an o.k price and there looks to be some fun left in that bike...ask to see the oil drain plug on the magnet(inside side) ...if it is covered in oily metal chunks ,,,run awayyyyyyyy...if it's clean...hand the man 13 , one hundred bills, cash and say,,,, wat up...imo

haha, yeay thats what i plan to do.
I am currently restoring the KZ with my spare time. pulling the engine to fix a stripped exhaust thread. and going over everything, soaking the carbs, valves, ect.

But i'd think this would be a fun bike.

it will flat rip compared to the kz and your license will be in danger every time you ride it. but hey a guy has to live a little sometimes right

Thats a nice bike at $1500.
I would buy it if i had the cash.
Just by painting it nicely would increase the value, sit on it all winter and in the spring sell it and make a nice increase in funds back.

Then i would buy me another Harley.

I had a 93 R6. It is a fun bike to ride. Providing it is mechanically sound and not abused or a chop-job mod, $1500 is a good price.
