I agree buy it.
I have a 78 KZ1000 not running a 82 KZ1100 my daily rider and just got a 92 ZX11 Ninja needs a little work. And going to ride them all.

If it were me and I needed to pick one, I would take the r6, a kz550 is nothing collectible. You could get one cheap if you ever wanted another. For the same money to keep a vintage bike road worthy, a mid 90's r6 would provide you tons more excitement. That is if high speed and handling are your thing.
Then again I am the dumb-tard who is dropping ~$1000 into the bottom end of my 650 this winter
But I am a stubborn turd and I plan on building my sport bike... I accept already though that maxing out the kz650/750 in streetable trim will still not keep pace with stock 1990+ sport bikes.

1977 kz650 c1
bought it because I was told it would never run again...I like to prove people wrong.

I beg to differ, this one isnt so common.
But i had to say no. There was a crack in the block, right behind the front sprocket cover. I went and looked at it, he said there was a crack where oil was leaking out and that he should add oil before he started it.
RED FLAG!
So i told him im interested but i need to see the crack before i buy it. So he took all the plastics off and the cover, sure egnough! it looked like the chain must have came off and hit the block. It was seepin oil and it was stone cold. so to hell with it....
oh well, maybe next time;)
