Camping trip gone wrong

This weekend (starting Thursday) I set out on a fourd day motorcycle camping trip through arkansas. I got into siloam springs from edmond, ok, and dumped the bike due to rain slicked roads. No damage to myself but I bent the crankshaft end on my bike. I guess the hunt for a new engine begins.

I will post pics and story soon.

Glad you're alright. Yes indeed, it was mighty rainy here in OKC Thursday. The creek behind the house was at it's highest in years.

yeah, it was even worse in Arkansas I think. When I went down it was barely pissing, but slick as snot. Sun came out right after I dumped it too. All I could do was laugh. Do you know of any sources for a used, good condition bike in our area OKC Kent?

I will pull the crank end bolt out, but the magnet for my dyna s was pushed so far over it was resting on the pickup. So yes, I am pretty sure the crank end is bent. I will do some further investigating. It would be tits if it was just the bolt that is bent, but I doubt it.

A mechanic at Bob Howard Chevy keeps telling me he knows a guy in Edmond with a KZ650 he wants to buy, but never has. Just sitting there. A friend of a friend has three 650's, 1 running, two for parts. If I can contact either one I'll pass the info to you.

If you fell on the points side, the crank end is pretty much flush with the seal if I remember right. No way to bend it really. The bolt and advancer is broken possibly, but doubtful the crank.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

this is good news, and on my further thoughts, is actually what I came up with. I am going to tear into it tomorrow, and see what I come up with.
