'82 KZ305 CSR value?

My bil is looking at this bike...

...and asking me if it's worth it. Thought I'd better check with those that know more than me. Personally, I wouldn't want to pay that much but, what do y'all think?

Looks nice. Personally I'd look for something more around the size of a 500 (newer ninja 500's are nice but pricey) for a first bike rather than pay that much for an older, smaller bike that you may well not get the money out of again.
