slacken the rear shock, drop the forks an inch in the trees, let 15 psi outta the rear tire, loosen your clutch cable a bit, take your mirrors off,do your first few passes at 75% and have some room left to lean into your last passes, instead of overdoing it and getting gunshy......oh yeah and have fun.......only street drag raced myself and the dont flip it advice given before is pretty sound advice....go easy first ten feet, shift once, then wait and watch the tach and shift late ....keep us posted.....peace craig...
p.s tighten and check your steering bearings and make sure your chain is set and well lubed ,brakes ok...ect..ect..

lowering rear while keeping front stock level adds a little rake to front end which will help high speed handling in a straight line

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

WoW, thanks for all the great advice. My main point is to have fun, but I am really interested to see what both me and the bike can do. She sure seems fast on the open roads and I can't wait to get those pre-flight jitters out. The only other time I ever did anything close was racing my buddy on his cb750. I smoked him and we stopped when we were going about 115 around a curving road! Can't wait to do it. I'll let everyone know how it went and what my best time was.

I'm guessing you don't have access to a dyno like the rest of us so make sure you try different rpm's to shift at. The power drops off at a certain point so trying to find that point is what you need to do.
