Last time I checked the record still stood. Burt's bike was a 600cc twin and I *believe* the class is less than 750cc streamliner. Wikipedia says the class is under 1000 cc but I don't think that is correct.
I really hate to open myself up to a beating here, but I think that if someone wanted to build streamliner bodywork for a 750 inline 4 and gear it up.......

Burt's record would be easy to beat now, but no-one enters that class out of respect for the old bastard. There are several records on the books like that, car and bike.

get the book "One Good Run" it will answer all your questions. i read it about every two years.
