As for me I get more attention and compliments on my KZ than any new bike gets. I am a LoneWolf who does not want to be just another pogie in the crowd. I ride a KZ because I love the Style, Sound and Ride of it. I could buy any bike I want - But I choose the KZ.

Well put Jim. I too love the looks and sound of these old machines. There fun to ride and many people love to admire them. But just like anything else.........modern sportbikes are miles ahead of these bikes.

i dont know about everyone else. i sold my 750ltd to get the 1000ltd. i was so excited because i had been wanting the 1000 for some time. my kz1000 is great, but there is a hole in my heart, that 750 was a part of me.
i dont feel the same way about my ninja. it is just another form of transportation.
when i turn my kz on. it returns the favor.

My Kz900 was my first bike. I've ridden a couple others here and there. I had to convince my buddy to help me resurrect it and my wife that it was worth the money. I've spent enough to get it running again that I could have bought a decent used 90's sport bike. But I will be buried with this motorcycle. I just can't see ever not having it. No other bike has tugged at me the way this one has, and it was all a coincidence that I ended up with it. I like the look of the Z1000, the Ducati Monster, and other naked bikes out there, but I love the bike I have. Worse, I want another.

I was riding on Pacific Coast Hwy last year, and a guy on a mint condition 1925 Harley told my my 77 KZ1000 was cool...
...that's never happened on my 2004 Yamaha FZ1, although on that, I'm usually a blur... DOHC 20 Valves, 130HP out of the box, really no comparison to the performance of a KZ, that's why I own three bikes.

I Have a neighbor I just moved into this neighborhood and haven't introduced myself yet but he has a cherry kz9 and a zx10 take a guess at which one he rides more often. I've ridden a couple rockets and the speed is fun but I just can't get over the ergonomics. I'm not even that old and they make me hurt.

double dub don't feel bad. I already have in to my bike at this point the same money I needed to buy the new zx14 that I renegged on. Don't regret it one bit. It rides pretty fast aside from overheating in traffic it's all that and the some. So spend on till you get it the way you want but just be for warned the more you do the worse the rubberneckers will look at and drool almost causing accidents. My Kz900 was my first bike. Has anyone heard about the new sportbike, made in china?
I heard some young guys talking about it, they new everything about it. They said it was just over 235hp (if I remember currectly) and it was something like 600cc.
Does anyone know if this is true?

I just got the chance to climb on a 99 ZX6 yesterday. It was a fun bike to thrash around, and probably has about 40 mph more top end than my lightly modified kz650, but from flogging it around it didn't seem much (if any) faster from 0-100. I'm going to have to hook back up with the guy once I get my exhaust finished on my Z and see how close we run.
